The German Healthcare Export Group (GHE) e.V. brings approx. 50 innovative and strongly growing companies from the area of medical technology, which are strongly export oriented, together. The GHE provides these member companies with a platform for exchanging their export business experiences.

The GHE offers customers a wide variety of products and services, from OP equipment to hospital IT, and covers almost the entire medical technology product range.

All in all the association represents around 80 percent by volume of all German exports in the medical technology sector.

At January, 26th, 2015 the most important healthcare exhibition of the Arab region, the Arab Health, opens its doors for the 40th time. It is regarded as a springboard and contact exchange for the entire Middle East.

Dubai is in the process of rolling out its healthcare insurance system that mandates that the population of the entire emirate must be covered by 2016. With 130.000 visitors and more than 40 % foreign visitors from all over the world the MEDICA was very succesful for the GHE members. The leading international market and information platform provides the GHE the ideal stage for the intensification of foreign operations of its member companies. Guests and visitors from around the world gathered at the booth. Business relations were attached to China, United Arab Emirates, South America, India and many other countries. The international visitors found out about the German medicine technology and granted at the same time insights into the medicine technology market and the need of their countries. The number of exhibitors is impressive: 4.831 exhibitors present themselves to about 40 % trade visitors all over the world. The GHE booth was also frequented by foreign visitors who were very interesed in medical technology „Made in Germany“.

The member organizations of the German Healthcare Export Group e.V. (GHE) represent producers of the full spectrum of medical technology offerings, from stethoscopes to operating theater robots. As a dynamic demonstration of the practical application of their products, the GHE has produced multiple film episodes to tie their solutions to real life challenges. In each film a unique situation is presented whereby devices are shown in action.

Siemens Healthcare has expanded its portfolio of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems to include the 1.5-tesla scanner Magnetom Amira(1). The new MRI scanner offers the same technologies that are available on the Siemens flagship MRI systems. Magnetom Amira also stands out against other scanners on account of its lower operating costs. One reason is the new "Eco-Power" technology that enables power savings of up to thirty percent in standby mode compared to when the feature is not activated. more …

CT lung cancer screening approved by CMS (11/11/2014)

Yesterday the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved CT lung cancer screening, stating evidence is sufficient to justify screening for high-risk individuals. This decision – long awaited after the USPSTF grade B recommendation last year and the MEDCAC panel hearing in April – will finally clear the path to implement CT based lung cancer screening in the U.S. for the general public. more …
