VarioLoc® hip stem

The straight stem design on which the VarioLoc® stem is based has been successful in hip arthroplasty for more than a quarter of a century.
The principle of a self-locking double-taper femoral stem was originally described by M. E. Müller.

The VarioLoc® hip stem is available for cementless (8 sizes) and cemented implantation (8 sizes).

The cemented version is polished with the rounded edges to prevent stress on the cement mantle.
The titanium plasma spray-coated surface in the proximal part of the cementless stem facilitates rapid and resilient bone ingrowth at the titanium stem.
